Rules Of Play
Cthulhu Rising is essentially a campaign setting for Call of Cthulhu ©. As such, in order to run a Cthulhu Rising adventure, all you really need are:
- Access to a copy of the Call of Cthulhu © core rulebook;
- The Cthulhu Rising MULA Monograph, available both in PDF format, or in print format from Chaosium.
Cthulhu Rising makes use of Hit Locations systems from the Chaosium Basic Roleplaying (BRP) rules. Knowledge of these rules is not necessary to run the adventures - the core Call of Cthulhu © rules will suffice. There are references to Strike Ranks in some of the adventures available on this website, but it should be noted that Cthulhu Rising has abandoned using rules involving this game mechanic, opting to revert to the Call of Cthulhu highest DEX approach in combat situations.
